About Me

My name is Shale and I work with adults (18years+) as a British Association Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) Registered Integrative Counsellor (Reg: 391729). This means I adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework, attend regular clinical supervision and I am fully insured.

As an Integrative therapist I blend different therapeutic approaches, drawing from a range of psychological theories including person centred, psychodynamic, systemic and CBT to support our work together, tailoring my approach to meet the needs of clients.

I support adults with a range issues, including bereavement, loss, change, stress, anxiety, depression, OCD, relationship breakdown, and trauma. I aim to be empathetic, impartial and supportive, but will not offer opinions or tell you what to do; I am not the expert on your life and how you feel - you are.

I will do my best to help you make sense of your thoughts and feelings, supporting you to come to your own solutions and conclusions.

Please contact me to organise a free 15-minute assessment, which is an informal discussion, where we mutually assess how we may work together.

It provides an opportunity for us to explore the issues causing you distress, your family history, and the hopes you may have for therapy. It is also a chance for you to ask about my counselling practice and how I work.

There is no obligation to commit to therapy after the assessment, but if you choose to do so, sessions are charged at £40 per session.

Training and qualifications

I have worked as a listening volunteer, training mentor and shift leader at Samaritans for over 5 years providing emotional support to people in distress.

I have worked as a counsellor in bereavement services and in sexual abuse and domestic violence service and I hold:

  • BACP accredited Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy (Distinction)
  • ACCPH approved Level 3 Grief Counselling Certificate (Distinction)
  • Certificate in Online & Telephone Counselling recognised by BACP and the National Counselling Society
  • Certificate in Walk and Talk Therapy endorsed by CPCAB
