About Me

I have a collaborative, empathic approach. I believe that the process of Psychotherapy enables a greater capacity for authenticity and increased capability for meaningful relationships. If you are in a place of stuckness or deep pain the right therapist can be with you in that place, and with time, assist you in dissolving any obstacles to moving forward.

Working alongside other professionals passionate about mental health, and with a great diversity of people and difficulties has inspired me to undertake some short courses and training in different therapeutic approaches. Consequently, I describe my practice as being pluralistic in style and believe that it is important to work thoughtfully in response to each person’s unique complexity.

Since I work part of the week on-site at a mental health hospital and have a high rate of unavoidable contact with others as a result, new clients are asked to meet with me online for the time being.

The first session is an opportunity to meet and get a sense of each other.  I will ask what has lead you to seek therapy and begin to learn about you by asking about your life, work, relationships and any experiences you think are important to know.

Undertaking therapy is a considerable commitment in terms of emotion, energy, time and money.  So this first session is an important opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have to get a sense of me and how I work so that together we can decide if my therapeutic approach will be helpful.
