Sarah DavisIntegrative psychotherapist
I am a UKCP registered Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist and Adult Counsellor. During Covid I am offering remote video and telephone sessions to adult clients. I see a wide variety of individuals but have a particular interest in working with young adults and parents (for further information please see www.sarahdaviscounselling.com).
Though I can work on a long or short term basis, I have considerable experience in short-term work and believe it is possible to make big shifts in a short (ish) or pre-agreed timeframe. I have found that working in this way can be incentivising for both the client and the therapist.
I am drawn to this work because of a passion to support people as they go through challenging times. I am warm, empathic, pragmatic, compassionate, humourful and creative in my attitude. The way I approach clients is to assess the whole person, taking into account their mental, physical and emotional needs and using techniques and tools from different modalities to tailor an individual experience. It really matters to me that people feel empowered rather than dependent in therapy and I work hard for every client to ensure they get the most benefit from the work – though ultimately that is as much down to the client as to me. Ultimately, I consider therapy as being alongside people as they discover new perspectives on old narratives about themselves and their lives. Witnessing and supporting clients in this unfolding process is what I love about the work.
