About me
I trained as an integrative psychotherapist at The Minster Centre, qualifying in 2018 and qualified as a coach more than 20 years ago. My work is inspired by many different teachers and I especially weave the influence of Jungian analysts Dr Clarissa Pinkola Estés and Marion Woodman into my practice, alongside relational, psychoanalytic and transpersonal thinkers. I draw on a variety of therapeutic approaches depending on your needs as my client. I place great importance on building a therapeutic relationship where you feel that you can explore whatever is most important to you, at the pace and in the way you wish. You are at the centre of all our work, and I believe that the answers to whatever questions you’re asking come from within you, at a mind, body and spirit level. My job is to accompany you back to yourself; to help you make decisions that serve you; to nourish your relationships, including the one with yourself; to find ways to be with yourself in times of anger, sadness, anxiety, grief, confusion and other emotions. What does that mean for how we work together? We enquire into what your life experience has been so far; how it’s shaped you; what stories you tell yourself and have been told by the dominant culture; how you’ve learned to build relationships and what beliefs and assumptions you carry into your connections with others. Through this exploration, you’ll develop a deeper awareness and acceptance of yourself and your life, and a greater understanding of the threads of the story you’re weaving and want to weave. If you’re open to it, we’ll feel into your embodied experience to include your bodysoul wisdom and reflect on your dreams so that you can understand your unconscious world and bring some of that potent energy into your life and relationships. Having real conversations about what matters to you is what matters to me. I offer a place where you can connect with, and express what you really think, feel and want and be met with care and compassion. I see clients at my private practice at Homa Psychotherapy Practice in Islington, at AASHNA in North Finchley, and also online. You may not be sure whether therapy is for you, or be clear about what exactly you “do” in therapy, or who you would like to work with. I understand that it can be quite nerve-wracking to take the first step and am available to answer any questions you have to figure out what is best for you. If you would like support, please call or email me to arrange an initial appointment. You can also have a look at my website: https://www.theembodiedsoul.co.uk/ and my detailed therapy profile here: https://homatherapypractice.london/therapists/sandra-hilton/ Groupwork I run various groups for women in person and online. We study and embody Jungian analyst, Marion Woodman's work through dreamwork, myth, writing and work with her texts. I also run women's circles and occasional workshops on bringing the feminine soul to consciousness through storytelling and creativity.
