Ruth Benstead Integrative counsellor , SK23
Choosing the right therapist can feel like a daunting prospect but the most important thing is to feel like they are on your wavelength and have experience of working with your particular difficulty.
Its easier to select a therapist if you know how they work, so a bit about me.
I am experienced in all aspects of Counselling and Psychotherapy but specialise in working with people who have experienced Childhood Sexual Abuse, Sexual Abuse/Violence, Domestic Abuse/Violence, and the effects of these which can include Trauma, Complex Trauma, Dissociative Identity Disorder, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
I have a depth of understanding surrounding these issues and know how hard it is to talk about. It is important that you know that I will believe you and never judge you, I will support you and help you make sense of things.
I work with all genders and sexual orientations, and age group 14yrs and over.
My approach is professional but also warm and friendly with the ability to provide a supportive relaxing environment for your sessions.
If you require any additional information please do contact me and I will answer all questions and concerns.
