About Me

We are currently living in unprecedented times as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. It can seem that the only certain aspect of our current situation is uncertainty.

This persistent uncertainty in our lives inevitably leads to raised levels of anxiety and fear. Fear for your health and those close to you, the grief arising from bereavement, the strain of social isolation and the financial consequences of unemployment and loss of financial security, all undermine your morale and sense of purpose. You are in acute need of support but don’t want to burden friends or family because they’re also struggling.

I’m Rory, an experienced BACP Accredited counsellor and I can offer you the opportunity to explore your anxiety and fears. Whether you want to talk about what may have happened, what is currently happening or what you fear may happen in the future, I provide an empathic, non-judgemental and confidential setting for you to do so.

I am an integrative counsellor and, as such, I aim to provide a counselling process and strategies based on your needs, rather than limit my approach to one particular theoretical approach, as other counsellors may do.

In this form of counselling, there is a focus on achieving greater levels of self-acceptance and personal growth. My main objective would be the building of a collaborative understanding and the setting of mutually agreed goals - after all, you are the expert on you, not me. Exploring your experiences, positive and negative, is an essential part of the process of identifying and developing the use of your own resources
