Roger Duncliffe Existential psychotherapist , EC2N

To assist with current government guidelines regarding coronavirus all client sessions are being conducted online using Skype/Zoom. This means you can continue to get the support you need during this time. Online therapy can be just as helpful and supportive as in-person therapy so please get in contact to arrange an appointment.

I am a registered UKCP and BACP psychotherapist with experience across a diverse range of issues including substance use, anxiety, depression, trauma, personality disorders, self-harm in addition to many more concerns. Deciding to engage with psychological therapies means finding the right therapist for you. I work in a practical and down to earth way that is geared towards helping you make the most out of therapy, at a pace that works best for you. Using a collaborative approach we will work together to explore and unravel the issues that are bringing concern to your life. I am here to listen, to be with, to empathise and to support you as best I can.

There are no expectations from me for how you should engage with therapy. What I aim to provide is a space that makes you feel comfortable and safe to express yourself. My doctoral training and clinical exposure has given me the skills and experience to practice across a wide range of evidence-based theories and techniques such as existential, psychodynamic and CBT therapies.

My research interests lie in gaining a better understanding of how the social and gendered expectations we face impact upon our ability to cope with life. Such pressures can prevent help-seeking behaviours and prevent us from getting the support we need. I have particular experience working with people who are hesitant with the concept of therapy that leaves them cautious to disclose their concerns with another individual. To help with this I aim to build strong working relationships that act as a key foundation to therapy.
