I'm a Chartered Counselling Psychologist specialising in women and mother's mental health and well-being. I have a special interest in perinatal and reproductive mental health. I also provide couples therapy. My practice is called Blue River Psychology and its based in Altrincham and Central Manchester. I provide short as well as long-term psychotherapy support.

I work closely with women who are experiencing a range of difficulties including: fertility issues, postnatal depression, perinatal anxiety, pregnancy loss, difficulties with the adjustment and transition to motherhood, issues around identity (gender, culture, ethnicity and sexuality), sexual trauma and relationship difficulties.

My practice is informed by attachment and relational models of psychological therapy and I also utilise skills and techniques from a range of therapy models which help facilitate change, including: CBT, Compassion-Focussed Therapy (CFT) and more recently Narrative therapy. 

Whilst my practice may seem women-centred, interestingly I do see men! Especially within a couples therapy context. I use Emotionally Focussed Therapy in couples work, which focuses on bringing attachment to the centre of the couple unit. 

I provide a warm, non-judgemental and safe space to explore your difficulties. As a client-drive practitioner, I draw on various psychology and therapy models (evidence-based) to formulate an understanding of the psychological difficulties you may be experiencing as an individual as well as a couple. Above all, I work to ensure my clients are empowered through psychological therapy.
