About Me

Psychotherapist & Addiction Counsellor

Dip Couns Psychotherapist MBACP

I'm specialised in the field of addiction and the recovery process. I'm  a qualified psychotherapist with extensive knowledge of mental health, addiction, and recovery. I have worked in various positions in my career, but my actual role is working with people in a person-centred approach being genuinely alongside them helping them in their journey of self-exploration and recovery.

I firmly believe anyone who wants to get better will get better. I have worked as a therapist for 24 years, I have worked with people at the top of their profession, also with celebrities and the most disadvantaged and vulnerable people. The one thing they all had in common was addictions that they felt powerless to stop regardless of the consequences .

The highlights of my career are seeing people maintain their recovery and rebuilding their lives. Recovery is an ongoing process someone who is in recovery from addiction will always need to watch out for complacency and cockiness.

I have also worked overseas helping to set up affordable treatment centres in the North of Thailand. I have worked on the island of Koh Chang, Thailand, in a treatment centre working with clients from a cognitive behavioural approach. Working with clients discharge plans and aftercare treatment which is imperative when leaving residential treatment.

On a personal level, I have received awards from the London Fire Brigade for bravery in rescuing individuals who were trapped in a fire. I have run two London Marathons for charity, one for the rehabilitation of addicted prisoners trust and one for children with leukaemia.

I have 24 years of knowledge and personal experience of change and the recovery process. I know how scary therapy can be so in the beginning I'm not to close but also not to far away from the client , listening to there story and providing a safe space to talk.

I want to work with anyone who wants to find meaning and purpose in their life to recover and get better.
