Richard Burgess
Psychodynamic psychotherapistAbout Me
I have over 20 years experience as a psychodynamic psychotherapist in private and voluntary capacities.
I provide a confidential space where difficulties can be explored in depth and where it becomes possible to increase self-understanding in order to achieve change. Anyone who is interested in how their life has led them to be who they are and are ready to commit themselves to looking at their difficulties honestly can benefit from psychotherapy.
You may have long-standing issues. These may be experiences of mild chronic anxiety and depression or more severe feelings prompted by complex and difficult situations. These might involve losses such as bereavement, divorce or redundancy.
You might suffer a lack of self-confidence; feel stuck in unhelpful patterns of thought or behaviour; have a vague discomfort with yourself; a sense of futility and inner or outer isolation. There may be doubts about the way you relate to others or the way they relate to you.
We each have a unique experience of life from which our particular inner world has arisen. Understanding your inner world is central to my approach to therapy.
