Rachael Cowie
Integrative counsellorAbout Me
Sometime in our lives, we experience periods where we need some additional support to manage a difficult situation, work through a particular issue, or understand something from our past. Whilst friends and family can be an huge source of love and support, at times we need someone impartial to help us to make sense of things. I offer a space that is safe and calm, non-judgemental and confidential so that you may share whatever is going on for you. I consider you to be the expert on your life, and my role as a therapist is to sit alongside you, as we make sense together, as an act of collaboration and co-creation.
I believe that relationships are where we can break, and that ultimately they are also where we can mend and heal. The process of healing looks and feels very different for each of us, but I feel that therapy, at the right time in your life, can provide a sacred space which is conducive to such healing, propelling you into new ways of being.
I work slowly and mindfully, and I also encourage creative processes, and use techniques such as mindfulness and bodywork. I work both long-term and short-term. If you are interested in meeting, we would organise an exploratory consultation where we establish if we can work together. We would then agree on a day and time for us to meet weekly for a 50-minute session. I also offer sessions in Italian.
