Mary Mitchinson Psychoanalytic psychotherapist , SE1

If things are not going as you would wish and you might be feeling sad, anxious or stuck, it really does help to talk.  But it is not always easy to talk to those closest to us - and this is when an independent, attentive listener, in a confidential setting can be most valuable.

I see my role as helping you to find new perspectives and to make the best use of your own resources in order to find the right solutions for you, rather than giving advice.

My approach is psychoanalytic, so takes into account unconscious influences.  Sessions will focus on examining your life and relationships, past and present, in order to build a picture of who you are, what is going on and what you want.  Most important is to facilitate change.

I work from quiet rooms between Waterloo and London Bridge.  I work with adults on a one to one basis, which can be open ended or shorter term.  Sessions are usually once per week but there may be times when it's helpful to meet more often. Sessions are up to 50 minutes, held on a regular basis.

If you are considering therapy, you will be welcome to get in touch, so that we can meet to explore how we might work together.
