About me
At the core of my practice is an in-depth exploration of your emotional life and the difficulties you may be facing. I offer a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space where you can begin to explore issues such as anxiety, low mood, relationship problems, identity concerns, or a general sense of feeling stuck. Psychodynamic counselling focuses on how early experiences and unconscious patterns may continue to influence the way you think, feel, and relate to yourself and others today. Together, we will work to understand these deeper dynamics, helping you gain insight, shift unhelpful patterns, and make more empowered choices in your life and relationships. A particular area of focus in my work is attachment theory—the idea that our earliest relationships form templates for how we experience closeness, trust, and emotional safety. These patterns, formed in childhood, can unconsciously shape how we relate in adult life, often showing up in ways we might not fully understand—for example, difficulties with intimacy, fear of abandonment, emotional withdrawal, or patterns of people-pleasing. In our work together, I pay close attention to how these attachment patterns may be influencing your current relationships and sense of self. The therapeutic relationship itself can become a place to safely explore and even begin to shift these patterns. Over time, this process can lead to a more secure sense of identity, greater emotional resilience, and the capacity to form more satisfying and authentic connections with others. My approach is warm, thoughtful, and attuned to your unique emotional world. I believe that with greater understanding and self-awareness, change is not only possible—but lasting. I am a registered member of the BACP British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy and hold Professional Indemnity & Public Liability Insurance.
