About Me

Sometimes life hits hard and we find it hard to cope. Sometimes everything seems to be well, and still, we are unhappy. There are times when we feel haunted by our past, and times when we just don’t understand some parts of ourselves - thoughts, emotions, or even physical pain. It can all feel like an overwhelming blur.

With Covid we have gone, and are still going, through a previously unimaginable amount of collective stress, pain and grief. The pandemic  radically changed our lives, and change can be confusing. It awakens feelings and memories we may not understand, and find overwhelming. So we could end up pretending that nothing is happening, but this way, unfortunately, we only get more hurt.

It is hard to face such inner struggles: perhaps we have never been taught that it is possible to take care of our mind, or perhaps we were never given the necessary tools to do so. But we can learn. Together we can face your experience, explore it, make sense of it and find ways to navigate it. Whatever your path in life is, and your story, I will be your ally through this journey of self-discovery.

My practice comes from 14 years’ experience in the field of mental health, both in the public and the private sector, in the UK and in Italy. As a Clinical Psychologist, I integrate different therapeutic approaches to understand your problems in the context of your unique experience as a human being. I believe that one-size-fits-all suits no one, and that every intervention needs to be tailored on the person in front of me.

Among other problems, I can help when you are struggling with any of the following:

  • Sadness
  • Anxiety
  • Difficulty dealing with uncertainty
  • Loss of pleasure in things
  • Self-accusation and self-blame
  • Being in physical pain or exhausted without knowing why
  • Feelings of shame and guilt
  • Irritation without understanding why
  • Feeling emotionally affected by political uncertainty
  • Fear and worry about the future
  • Not seeing a point in life
  • Having unpleasant and disturbing thoughts that you can’t get rid of
  • Feeling that you are losing control
  • Being unhappy with your appearance
  • Worrying a lot about your health
  • Preoccupation around eating
  • Preoccupation about money
  • Getting caught up into traumatic memories
  • Relational and family issues
  • Issues connecting and dealing with your past

As it can be difficult to decide whether someone is the right person to help us, get in touch for a 15-minute free informal phone call, or via email, to discuss your needs, and see how we can move forward.

This is by no means a commitment to initiate therapy, just an opportunity to ask any questions that you might have.

If you decide to continue working with me, we will arrange a consultation. This will take one or two sessions, depending on the nature of your needs, and it will give us a chance to understand what we want to work on, and make a plan. We can decide to focus on a specific issue and agree on a set number of sessions, or we can consider therapy as an open-ended, deeper process, with an explorative focus.

My practice is exclusively online.

I offer therapy in English and Italian.
