Oonagh Ogilvy WatsonIntegrative psychotherapist
As a qualified integrative psychotherapist I draw from different approaches in order to listen effectively to your individual experiences. I aim to provide a safe, confidential, non-judgemental and empathetic space for you to explore, understand and cope with life's difficulties.
I have a particular interest in Polyvagal Theory.Clients with a history of trauma can often experience more extreme autonomic responses which in turn can affect their ability to feel safe and connect with others. Learning about our own autonomic nervous system, opens the door for self-compassion. We are all faced with the dilemma of balancing the drive to survive with the longing to connect to an other.Finding a balance with these often competing urges can help bring peace and resolution.
I have experience in supporting people from all different walks of life coping with a wide range of difficulties such as anxiety, bereavement, sudden loss, depression, childhood trauma/abuse, work related stress especially from the health care profession, family conflict and relocation.I have over twenty -five years experience working as a health professional, originally as a dentist and now in counselling and psychotherapy. During that time I worked in both the NHS and private sectors.
OnlineI also provide my services online.
