Nikki Berry Counselling
I am a qualified and experienced BACP accredited counsellor, supervisor and systemic practitioner working in private practice in West Norwood, South London.
I provide counselling for individuals, couples and families, facilitate individual and group supervision for therapists and run reflective support groups.
My background spans across the NHS, charity sectors and private practice where I’ve developed significant experience in the provision of therapeutic counselling and supervision supporting those facing a wide range of challenges.
My private practice is based in West Norwood, South London on Thursdays. I offer time limited or open-ended counselling to individuals, couples and families in a safe and confidential space.
My way of working is integrative, meaning that my appreciation for different theoretical approaches are combined to enhance my practice and the experience of my clients.
My training in humanistic theories, person centred and psychodynamic approaches, intercultural counselling and systemic family therapy provide me with a rich framework to draw from and establish a suitable fit for the individual needs of each client.
I also offer clinical supervision to qualified professionals and those in training on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis. Sessions are available on weekday evenings and offered to individual therapists or small groups.
Career and Experience
I completed my professional training in 2008, graduating with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling. My studies incorporated a range of theoretical perspectives including person centred, psychodynamic and intercultural approaches which have gone on to inform the foundation of my clinical practice.
I went on to complete post graduate training in Systemic Family Therapy (with a specialism in families and couples) in 2013. This deepened my knowledge and understanding of the complexities of relationships and the dynamics that lie between individuals and how communication can enhance the potential for change.
In addition to my private practice, other current roles include;
Assessor / Counsellor / Supervisor for a BACP accredited counselling service in West London where I provide in depth clinical assessments and both time limited and long-term counselling for clients referred though the NHS Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (IAPT) and providing clinical supervision for counsellors on placement.
Clinical supervisor for counsellors on placement in a local community counselling service and consultant / group facilitator for a small charity supportive people living with a neurological disorder.
