I understand that starting therapy can be a daunting experience and work with clients to establish your level of comfort and what you need from therapy. Our sessions together will include space to reflect and consider how the work is going and make changes as needed. As a client, the focus is on ensuring you are receiving the care that is right for you.
I feel it is important to be a witness to and explore the positive, challenging and in between areas of life. Together we can explore how feelings from past experiences may impact how you view and react to current situations. I also provide space to develop coping skills and work on self-esteem, and a sense of inner strength.
I am a accredited and registered psychotherapist who is a member of the BACP. I have over 5 years of experience using both Psychodynamic and Humanistic approaches. I have included art, music and imagery in sessions and understand that these interests and hobbies can be a big part of a clients identity. I have extensive experience working with clients who feel anxious, nervous or hesitant to begin therapy.
I work within the BACP ethical framework which includes confidentiality within the sessions, professional development, and supervision to support my therapeutic work.
I feel it is important to have an opportunity to meet and have space to discuss your counselling requirements and how I can best help. An introduction also gives us an opportunity to see if we are a good fit. Please send me an email or give me a call if you would like to discuss how I can best help. From there we can book an introduction session.
