Nicola Vincent
Person-centred/humanistic therapistAbout Me
As an experienced psychotherapeutic counsellor, I help clients to explore issues through a personalised approach including therapeutic writing and creative arts. With a background in education and business, I understand all too well the challenges that adults and young people can face at times and know that, with careful listening, understanding and support, life can start to feel easier. I have been a Samaritans volunteer for a number of years and so I'm all too aware of how very difficult life can be.
Perhaps you are wanting to feel better and rediscover a sense of hope. You may be experiencing difficulties in life such as stress, anxiety and burnout resulting from personal or professional challenges. Perhaps you are struggling to make sense of life, looking to find a purpose or create change.
I work both short-term and long-term with clients, including with people who come for counselling as a form of personal or self-development, realising the importance of maintaining their emotional and mental wellbeing in the midst of all the various demands on their time and energy.
As a supervisor, I work with counsellors and wellbeing practitioners to enhance their skills and confidence in working with their own clients.
I am a practitioner member of the Association for Person Centred Creative Arts (APCCA) and currently completing a MSc in Creative Writing for Therapeutic Purposes. I am also a qualified coach with particular experience of working with clients within the field of education.
