Integrative counsellorAbout Me
COVID UPDATE
Are you anxious, depressed, feeling sad or experiencing other difficulties? Do get in touch. I am experienced in online and telephone therapy and currently have some immediate availability. If you're looking for COVID safe face to face sessions I offer walking therapy where we can walk and talk in the outdoors. I offer all clients an initial 30 minute chat at no cost so you can find out if I'm the right therapist for you.
I can help you to face difficulties and uncertainties, to see your own unique qualities and work with you as you follow your own life journey.
I do appreciate how difficult it can be to choose the right person to support you. So if you think counselling may help or if you would like more information, I am more than happy for you to get in touch.
How will I work with you?
My practice will give you a bespoke and personalised approach. I will offer you a safe, confidential space where you will feel able to share and explore whatever is causing you difficulty.
Working with openness, honesty and integrity, with careful and attentive listening, I will be guided by you and work with you to help you find your own way forward.
What can I help with?
I have considerable experience in both private and public sector working, with significant experience in stress (both work related and non work related), anxiety and depression. I am able to support those who have suffered abuse or trauma at any stage in life and am experienced in working with long-term physical and mental ill health and personal relationships. I support clients to understand themselves, their experiences and the impacts life has had on them. Such work has helped clients come to different ways of living in and experiencing the world. I have a particular affinity for supporting clients who may be experiencing difficulties (both personally and in relationships) associated with transvestism and my sensitive approach ensures an environment where you will feel safe to discuss whatever is causing you difficulty.
If there is an aspect of life you want to change or just want to understand better, I can help you find your unique way forward.
If you have experienced trauma in life and this continues to impact on you, I am fully trained to help you using the specialist REWIND Technique, in clinical use since 1991, this approach can provide 'closure without disclosure', helping you recover from intrusive thoughts, memories and flashbacks, and allowing you to move on in life.
I work to high professional standards within the BACP Ethical Framework (http://www.bacp.co.uk), my work is fully insured and I am fully compliant with GDPR requirements.
The ways I can help
In working with you I will build a strong, non-judgemental relationship. I will support you to explore your thoughts and feelings in ways that suit you, through talking or creative approaches. We will have a dialogue to support you in understanding your own thoughts, feelings, emotions and behaviours and there will at times be humour - being able to laugh can provide much needed relief when life is not easy.
