Nickie McNamara
Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
Nickie has extensive experience of treating clients in the NHS, charitable sectors and privately. Working with clients to develop a mutually respectful, intimate and unique relationship that allows for change, growth and self development.
Therapy can be a place to work through current life crises, or to explore more long standing patterns of behaviour that result in unhealthy and unhelpful ways of living. Holding up a mirror to often hidden or unknown aspects of ourselves, the therapeutic process creates greater self awareness and thereafter greater self agency. It can be difficult, painful and challenging but ultimately results in the ability to live a more fulfilling, meaningful and rewarding life.
Treatment is tailored to suit clients needs and narratives and can be both brief (6-12 sessions) and long term, open ended. Normally weekly but fewer or more weekly sessions can be agreed.
She sees both individual clients and couples and has long experience of same sex relationships.
As an Accredited Mediator, Nickie facilitates the resolution of conflict in family matters, between divorcing couples and in co-parenting dilemmas.
