Monte FieldsIntegrative psychotherapist
A qualified, accredited therapist with experience in private practice and the NHS. Working together, it is possible to make lasting positive change. If you need help with something that feels painful or even embarrassing, I am here to support you. Like all of us, I have experienced challenges in life. And I have always been fascinated by what makes us think, feel and behave in the ways that we do. In addition to practicing as a therapist, I have used counselling and psychotherapy myself. Therapy has provided me with support during personal challenges, greater self-awareness and increasing acceptance of myself and others. It has also challenged me when I needed it - there is always more to learn.
I will support, encourage and challenge you to gain greater understanding of past experiences and patterns that might influence and affect you now. This means that we would pay attention to what might be outside consciousness, explore your early relationships and how these might affect your expectations of relationships now. I am experienced with clients who have experienced trauma, loss and neglect, early or later in life.
Issues often worked with
My fee for the initial consultation is £80. My standard fee for ongoing work is £80 per 50-minute session. I have a limited number of lower-cost places at £65 a session for those on lower incomes, which are often taken up. However, it is worth checking back periodically to see whether a lower cost place has become available.
Training and qualifications
I am qualified in psychodynamic and cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), and have experience with a range of therapy approaches. I am accredited by and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by its Ethical Framework.
