Maria RogersIntegrative counsellor
The counselling service I have established is called, "A Ray of Hope" I have a Bachelor of Science degree in counselling and psychotherapy. I also have an advanced diploma in integrative counselling. I offer clients therapy using the humanistic approach. I have a great deal of experience in counselling and group work. I have worked within various professional organisations, including the NHS and The Priory Hospital, working with addiction and many other issues such as trauma anxiety and depression.
I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment offering my clients unconditional, positive regard and empathy as they grow and develop. This can lead to greater insight, healing and progress. I work from my private practice in Ardleigh Green, Essex. Sometimes the world we live in gets tough. There can be so many mix messages which we start to believe about ourselves, this can sometimes develop into a negative core belief such as. " I'm not good enough or I don't fit in", and many more, as a result of this clients can often feel depressed, it starts to affect self-esteem. Counselling can help clients to challenge these negative core beliefs and help break the patterns this will result in a more positive self-concept. and self-belief.
Our early experiences, both negative and positive, impact on our present way of thinking, behaving and relating to others, therefore it is important to help the client to make those links between past and present behaviour, to increase their self-awareness and bring about change.
As well as one to one's I run group therapy sessions with a guided meditation on a Sunday from 2-4 at Ardleigh Green, Hornchurch, Presently I am working from home doing this group on a Sunday through zoom.
Clients also have the option to receive Auricular acupuncture on a one to one or in group sessions, this is an optional treatment and also a very good holistic remedy for relieving stress; anxiety; fatigue; pain and for detoxing. Auricular Acupuncture is a form of Chinese Medicine which uses small needles inserted into various parts of the ear to treat a variety of conditions. I practice a NADA five-point Protocol for Substance Misuse and Stress Management. Indeed, some clients who are withdrawing from alcohol and drugs/nicotine find this particularly beneficial.
I believe in the core conditions, i.e., putting clients at the centre of their own recovery and empowering them to change their lives for the better!
OnlineI also provide my services online.
