I am working as a qualified counsellor since 2016 and my area of expertise includes anxiety, depression, panic attacks, bereavement, trauma, sexual, physical and emotional abuse, cultural issues, relationship problem, loneliness, divorce, infertility, menopause, cancer/serious illnesses, work related stress, anger and self-esteem.
Throughout my work, I have been involved in enabling people to grow and change through my non-judgement attitude which empowered them to become the person that they want to be. Prior to training as a counsellor, my background is Humanistic approach. I am a qualified counsellor from Black Asian Ethnic Minority (BAME) established both in private practice and in the community since 2016.
I am a registered member of British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I am bound by and adhere to its Ethical Framework For Good Practice.
I have developed my knowledge and skills through counselling training, placements, counselling work; in private practice, in charity settings and in the community.
I have also developed some of my skills through monthly supervision and my continuing professional development which is a requirement by the BACP.
I work with clients from the age of 18 on an individual basis and with groups, dealing with a wide range of issues. The duration of the work with clients varies and this depends on the personal needs of each person and its includes long term and short term counselling. Short term counselling is from 6 -12 sessions whilst working therapeutically in greater depth will take longer.
I am a trained person centred counsellor and I use humanistic approach which focuses on an individual's uniqueness that has the potential to grow. It is a non-directive approach and it key features an emphatic understanding, without judging client's course of action or decision.
I am committed to delivering clients' centred support that empowers client to make informed decisions. I will help my clients' to develop the skills and the tools that would enable them to deal with issues of everyday life.
Beside my private practice I do sessional counselling at Protem Counselling Organisation since April 2016. I also started doing sessional counselling work for the Butterfly organisation since October 2019. I offer face to face counselling and online counselling.
