About Me

Therapy for driven people.

I run a private practice within minutes of London Bridge & the City of London.
I also have a practice in Sevenoaks, Kent.
I work with clients online too.

Firstly, let's get this one out of the way: you don't have to be at rock bottom to come to therapy.
That's the old model.

I see people who are driven, and have achieved some of the things they want to in life, but who still feel that something is missing.

I'm guessing you feel uncertain and confused about what’s going on.

Therapy with me can help you figure out what is really going on, and when this happens I find there’s usually a feeling of relief for you.

Finding out why something is happening, is the first step towards really finding out how to do things differently.

Are you ambitious and want to keep being ambitious, but know that something inside doesn't feel right?

Are you finding it tricky to maintain romantic relationships and feel like you just don't 'get' men or women? Do you feel close to giving up on relationships altogether?

I'm really passionate and committed to these areas.

I’m warm, gutsy, straight talking and kind.

You can expect me to be 'real' with you.

I’ll take the risk of saying something I think you won’t like, if I think it will really help you.

I'll be direct, but gentle about it too.

I find this approach is good at getting peoplewho feel uncomfortable with their feelingsin touch and much more comfortable with their feelings. This usually leads to a sense of aliveness, and more connection with yourself.

You being lost, unsure or scared doesn’t freak me out.

I’m not a blank screen. I’m keen to engage with you, and for you to feel both challenged and cared for.

I'll always be on your side; not always in the way you want me to be, but often in the way you need me to be.

I find this approach is useful at helping people feel supported in such a way that they are ready to do things differently in their lives.

Other areas I deal with:

  • Are you a stepparent feeling confused by your role, and feel like all your buttons are being pushed? I know this can be a really challenging role. Read more about my work in this area here: https://louisegulley.com/step-parenting/
  • Are you a millennial or generation Z (also known as Post-Millennials or The Founders) launching into adult life and something feels a bit off? Are you moving out of home, about to go to uni, or start your career or business? You can read more here: https://louisegulley.com/launching-into-life/

Training and qualifications

My training was integrative, drawing from all schools of psychology. Its defining feature is that as well as working directly with the challenges you bring, it also holds space for the development of human potential, which can include, for example, developing self awareness & a sense of meaning and purpose.

I have a PGDip (3 year Postgraduate Diploma) in Psychosynthesis Counselling, validated by the University of Middlesex and accredited by BACP (British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy).

I also have a BA Hons in English Literature and History of Art, The University of York.
