About Me

Hello and welcome. My name is Lisa, I offer a private and professional counselling service within easy reach of Tring, Berkhamstead and Aylesbury. I provide counselling for as long or as little as you would like. The room I work from is peaceful, pleasant and comfortable. I have been a qualified counsellor for ten years, I offer telephone and face to face counselling to young people and adults.

At the present time in response to the coronavirus, I am only doing telephone counselling and online face to face sessions until further notice.

Young people (11 years+)

I specialise in working with young people and have counselled over three hundred young adults in secondary school settings. I have a passion for supporting young people’s well being and respect a young persons ability to explore themselves to find their own meaning and autonomy from their own life experiences. I can offer simple talking therapy or combine different therapeutic approaches depending on ones own specific needs and preferences, some of these may include: creative mindful techniques, relaxations, self esteem interventions, cognitive behaviour tools, journaling etc. It really does depend on how you would like to work together and what feels right for you.

On our first initial meeting; myself, the young person and the parent or person with parental responsibility, can meet to share thoughts and valuable information, that can be of support to the young person. After the initial session, the young person can attend the counselling sessions by themselves. We will usually contract for six sessions, once the sessions have been completed, we can review how the young person would like to go forward.

As adults, life can be tough and challenges can arise. At times we may experience ongoing pain, confusion or sadness that we feel we don’t want to bear on our own anymore. This is when counselling can help.

We are the only ones who know our own life story’s and what path we have already taken and what path we wish to chose for ourselves in the future. I can offer a caring space for you to explore your thoughts, feelings and your own life story.
