About Me

I am a SENIOR BACP Counsellor with 24 years of Clinical experience. I specialise in Short Term Therapy and supporting people with Anxiety, Depression and Self-Esteem issues.  I am also a Couples Counsellor which can be helpful in understanding any relationship issues you experience - Romantic, Friendships, Family or at Work.

My intention would be to help you through what may be a difficult time in your life, to help you manage life better, feel more resourced and to increase your self confidence and clarity so you can move forwards.

I have a special interest in particular in supporting people with Relationship issues of all kinds; also Anxiety, Low Mood and Confidence issues, particularly within brief therapy time frames.

You may be struggling with a particular problem or feeling lonely, sad, depressed, panicky, overwhelmed, flat, or perhaps frustrated or irritable a lot of the time.

It may be a relationship that’s failing or that you are recognising the same patterns playing out in your life. It’s possible you’ve tried coping on your own and talked to family and friends for support but you still feel stuck and distressed.

Perhaps together we can build up your understanding of yourself - to identify what is going on for you and to help you clarify the changes you want to make in your life and to talk through how you are going to be able to do that.

In therapy we can sometimes reflect on the past in order to make sense of what your're going through today. Understanding how your potential may be held back through your past experiences or what you may need to let go of or to reclaim to be happier... However, the focus is on where you are now and where and how you want to be...

I offer a warm and empathic listening ear to support you and together we can talk about practical ways to help you so you can live a more fulfilling, happier life - functioning in the way you want to be operating.

I work with people in:

  • Short Term Counselling - to support you with your current struggles and to help you in an empathic and practical way to understand yourself better and feel more able to cope in your life.
  • Long Term Counselling - for historical and deeper seated issues.

To support you in:

  • Understanding your Anxiety, Worries and Stress and exploring ways to manage panic and concerns.
  • Low Mood, Sadness and Depression.
  • Endings, Loss and Bereavement.
  • Relationship issues.
  • Childhood and historic issues.
  • Couples Counselling.
  • Self-Confidence and Self-Esteem issues.

Training and qualifications

I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and various Degrees in Psychology and I have worked as a Counsellor for 24 years.

I have numerous trainings in different therapeutic models so I work with a broad range of approaches - including Psychodynamic therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Solution Focussed techniques, Compassion Focussed therapy and  Life Coaching etc, however my core training is in Psychosynthesis -  an approach acknowledging the distress and pain of your current struggles but it also holds a wider perspective… what is going on here? why is this happening? and what in you may have the opportunity to develop in this situation? Therefore, what is troubling you currently, may be the very thing that can lead to a positive change, psychological growth and personal fulfilment.
