About Me

Covid-19: I offer online therapy through Zoom (video call) or telephone. I am taking bookings now for face to face meetings (with social distancing) in London (Harley Street) only. Call or book now.

Hi, I am Lila and welcome,

I understand it's not easy to choose a therapist, and taking the time to search for a suitable match is essential. My practice offers you a comforting, safe and confidential place to be and to tell your story.

I am a trained and experienced psychotherapist and hold a degree in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy and a Masters' degree in Intercultural Communication & Relationships. Both gained from the University of Surrey. I have some eight years of experience working with individuals and have helped people cope with anxiety, worries, stress, depression originating from various issues. I am a member of the BACP and adhere to their code of ethics. My website: www.ramsahaiwellbeing.com

Sessions will be all about you, where you can share your experiences, whether these originate from childhood or adulthood. Perhaps it will be the first time you can tell your story, find relief, and understand how your experiences are still affecting your life. It's good to seek help and work on issues that are bothering you. I offer both long and short term therapy.

I also offer Intercultural psychotherapy as a specialised service, which is especially beneficial amongst culturally diverse individuals. Intercultural psychotherapy is particularly sensitive to the importance of race, ethnicity and religion.

How does Intercultural psychotherapy differ from usual psychotherapy?

Clients will typically discuss the same issues in both types of therapies. However, culturally diverse clients will also discuss some additional problems concerning their cultural heritage or background in Intercultural psychotherapy. Intercultural psychotherapy also recognises the differences and similarities of various aspects of culture between the client and therapist. Culturally diverse clients often seek to connect with their therapist on a cultural level to enable a deeper level of communication and understanding. It can allow a more effective therapeutic experience for culturally diverse individuals.

Which additional issues do culturally diverse individuals discuss in Intercultural Psychotherapy?

Culturally diverse clients often bring up the following issues in sessions: cultural identity, identity crisis, the effects of multicultural and multilingual upbringing, coping with bi-racial identity, loss of mother tongue and mother tongue biases, belonging, language usage, racism, race & ethnicity, mixed-race upbringing, hybrid identity, isolation, confusion about identity, which cultural values to adhere to (host vs own culture).

Cross-Cultural Consultation for families:

Rooted in my academic studies, background and upbringing, I offer cross-cultural consultancy to culturally diverse or bi-racial families. When growing up in a multicultural and multilingual household, it can often be confusing which cultural values & beliefs and mother tongue to pass to children. Cross-Cultural family consultancy is specially designed to help deal with a multicultural and multilingual upbringing. Issues with identity, identity crisis, mother tongue biases, and cultural values are common issues that culturally diverse families often deal with.
