Human Givens psychotherapistAbout Me
At the core of the Human Givens approach to therapy lies the understanding that: 'it is what's right with you that will fix what's wrong'. It is this positive therapeutic principle that most attracted me to becoming a Human Givens therapist and coach.
When life becomes overwhelming (as it does for all of us from time to time), it is easy to lose sight of our own rich resources that will form the basis of healing and moving ahead with our lives.
My background is as a photographer, film-maker and business consultant, and I have spent time living in Spain and Latin America. I believe that a broad experience of life can be valuable when it comes to helping others navigate their own psychological well being.
My personal journey has not always been plain sailing. In fact, like all of us, I am still learning and hopefully growing. However, like many, the discovery of Human Givens was like a light bulb going off. It is a holistic approach to therapy that identifies the barriers in our conditioning that prevent us from getting our emotional needs met, and gives a positive framework from which to overcome them and move forward.
We live in stressful times, and sometimes we need help to deal with life’s struggles. Whether it's a specific issue, a behaviour we want to change, a recurring feeling we cannot shake, or simply the sense that there is something holding ourselves back from being our best selves, I have seen at first hand the dramatic positive shifts that Human Givens therapy can have on an individual’s outlook and how it can improve happiness.
