Larraine CoxIntegrative counsellor
My aim is to provide the safe, supportive, counselling space you may need, to enable you explore some or all of what is going on in your life. My aim is that you will gain understanding of your thoughts and feelings. This will then give you choices and options that will enable you to handle emotions better and decide when you are ready to move on to a more positive place.
Currently I’m happily working as a counsellor and supervisor, nationwide, online and by telephone with some face to face sessions. I have had the privilege of being in private practice since 2006 - working with individuals, teenagers (11+) and relationships, my service is available to you, wherever you are.
I will provide some face to face appointments each week, COVID regulations permitting, in Runcorn (5 miles from junctions 11 & 12, M56).
Asking for help can be so difficult especially when dealing with strong emotions such as jealousy, anger, stress, anxiety, panic and / or depression. Maybe you feel overwhelmed, lost or alone, concerned about a present or past relationship. Maybe a life change is proving too challenging to deal with such as divorce, illness, redundancy or retirement, counselling can often help you to gain clarity or find the solution to suit you.
Counselling is about understanding what is happening to you, building up your self confidence, identifying choices and recognising and working toward the goals you want to achieve on the road to the life you desire.
I will offer you a caring, empathic, compassionate, safe space in our session and will treat whatever you bring with confidence (within safeguarding guidelines) and respect.
How will I do this? Integrated counsellor, in my case, means I use a mix of person centred, psychodynamic and CBT counselling depending on the needs of each individual (that means I can work with you on issues from the past, present or even fears for the future). As well as my counselling qualifications, I have both the Diploma and Practitioner qualification in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and the Diploma in Mindfulness. All this means I can tailor my service to better meet your needs.
About Me - Counselling since 2006, joined Relate in 2011 and with them, trained to work with young people (11+), couples / relationships. I’ve also worked in secondary schools.
I was a facilitator working with Separated Parents Information Programme (SPIP) and more recently I am a facilitator for the Choose To Change programme, working with male perpetrators of domestic violence so I have lots of experience with children and parents on divorce and separation and on the different forms of abusive behaviour.
I am happy to work with individuals, teenagers, couples or groups.
I recently completed my PG Supervision Certificate and am offering the first six supervision sessions with a 33% discount for both one to one supervision and for the small supervision group I hope to set up soon.
I also offer single session therapy - this is up to 100 minutes on one topic, to look at an issue in-depth and the aim would be to consider or even create an action plan for next steps - this is not suitable for addictions.
