About Me

Welcome

My name is Kym Winup MNCS (accredited) registration number NCS 20-02391 and I am a also a member of the BACP (registration number 00918228). I am a member of The Person Centered Counselling Association. I am also a qualified Life Coach (CPCAB). In addition I have training and qualifications in a range of areas listed below. Whilst Academic qualifications are important background information, and of course will show that I am qualified, you will need to know more about me before you decide if I am the right Counsellor for you.

Choosing the right Counsellor is very important, whether you are looking for a Counsellor for yourself, or as a couple. Some people will know exactly what they are looking for in a Counsellor while others may be a bit unsure. You will have made the decision to seek counselling - an important step. The next step is finding the right Counsellor for you. It is a very important decision.

With the right Counsellor you will develop a strong therapeutic relationship. You will learn what a trusting relationship feels like. You can try new ways of relating in a safe space. You will be able to be your authentic self without having to impress or please someone else. You will be able to share things with someone who is impartial, non judgmental and wants the best for you.

My profile will tell you about my qualifications, my experience and my approach and from that you may be able to decide if I am the right Counsellor for you, or as more likely, you may want to find out more, in which case please feel free to contact me for a chat before you make any decision.

What I can tell you is that I will provide you with a safe place in which you can grow and develop and overcome beliefs and behaviours that are preventing you from reaching your full potential.

I promise to be there for you every step of your journey

I promise that our alliance will be safe and confidential.

I promise to remember that in our work together I am a guest in your world of experience and I will not judge you.

As a Person-Centred counsellor I believe that you can be the best person you can be and that by working together you will become that version of yourself.

Before I became a Counsellor I worked for many years in the education sector and then in Children’s Services, working with parents and families. This work led me to train as a Counsellor, a role which has encompassed all my knowledge, skills and experience.

My experience covers a wide range of areas including depression, stress, low self esteem, Self harm, infidelity, relationship issues, substance misuse, anxiety, bereavement, pet bereavement, work/school based stress. I provide a neutral, safe ground to individuals, families, and couples. We will work together to achieve your goals. My experience enables me to offer effective, individual, psychological care.

As a member of the BACP I work within their ethical guidelines. I adhere to BACP guidance in relation to boundaries and confidentiality. I have regular supervision with a qualified supervisor to ensure I practice safely, ethically and within my competencies.

I offer remote sessions via Skype and Zoom. I do have comfortable rooms in Greenwich which but currently only have availability for face to face sessions on Thursday evenings.

Finding the right a counsellor for you is important- I offer a free No obligation 15 minute consultation via Zoom so you can decide if I am the right counsellor for you.
