About me
Seeking therapy can be scary, so I’m here to make the process as approachable as possible. Whether there’s a specific issue or you need a place to work through a difficult time, I aim to create a safe, non-judgemental environment for you to fully be yourself. First and foremost, we’ll work together to build a space that feels comfortable, where you can be as open and honest as possible. This can often feel vulnerable, especially when we’re used to putting on masks for people or editing our behaviour in different situations. But we’ll always go at your pace and my experience as an integrative counsellor means we can adapt how we work to suit your needs. It may be there’s an issue that’s been affecting your day-to-day life for a while, a past experience that you’ve struggled to come to terms with, or you feel you’ve reached a crossroads and you’re not sure where to go next. Perhaps you’re hoping to gain a greater knowledge of yourself and an understanding of behaviours that don’t always seem to make sense. Whatever it is you’re looking to share or explore, having somewhere to do that each week can be a hugely helpful and healing experience. In terms of my background, I’m educated to Bachelors and Masters level, and graduated with distinction in Integrative Counselling & Coaching from the University of East London. Previously to that I trained with the The Manor House Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling, and The Counselling Foundation. My approach is mainly person-centred, and I believe that building a strong relationship and holding the space for you to discover, understand and grow is key. Different things resonate with different people, so I will always work with you to use approaches and techniques that fit best with your beliefs, personality, and experiences. As well as person-centred work, I also pull from psychodynamic and existential training, as well as the principles of Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and coaching, depending on what you’re hoping to get from your sessions. I offer a free 15-20-minute online consultation session via video call. This is for us to meet and discuss how we might work together. It’s an opportunity to ask any questions or voice any concerns, as well as get a general feel for whether it’s a good fit. If you decide to move forward with me as your therapist, we will then arrange a time for us to meet weekly online for a 50-minute session moving forward.
