Kate Ahl Integrative counsellor , WC1X

Therapy can be an opportunity to address a specific issue in your past or present, but it also offers space and time to explore feelings of alienation, emptiness, or a lack of pleasure in living - feelings that are often difficult to talk about with friends or loved ones. As an integrative counsellor I offer a safe, non-judgmental relationship within which to explore your sense of self, values, relationships, and patterns of behaviour. I will listen, support and challenge in order to help you clarify your experience, recognise stuck patterns, and find your own way of living life more fully.

My approach is influenced by psychodynamic and existential understandings of human development and experience. In practice this means that while I believe that childhood experiences and relationships can tell us a lot about our ways of relating, I also place importance on an exploration of current experience, behaviour, and values, with a view to taking responsibility for making change.
