Kate PisulakPerson-centred/humanistic psychotherapist
Hello, I am Kate. I am a qualified person cantered counsellor; however, in my practise I am trying not to concentrate solely on this approach; depending on the needs of the person asking for help.
Since having found my vocation years ago, I have been pursuing this profession, accumulating experience, and knowledge, always convinced that I could not perform a more fulfilling and amazing career.
My favourite part of being a counsellor is watching you, my clients, grow and blossom into the amazing beings you are supposed to be, letting go of the things that hold you back, reaching your full potential and creating your best possible life! It is a huge honour and privilege to be part of that process!
How I work
I offer you my knowledge and experience in order to look together for answers to the questions troubling you. My aim is to support you to feel more fulfilled in life, to help you understand what blocks your innate talents and skills, identify them and reach for them; to use them consciously and fully, and to make changes in your life, which will render it more satisfactory.
I believe each of us is different and unique, endowed with different talents that may sometimes be hidden or blocked for various reasons. My therapeutic approach is not only a continuation of my field of study but also an expression of the implicit faith in the uniqueness of each individual and the respect they are due. Above all, however, this faith is the essence of my way of life and an intrinsic part of my identity.
In a quiet and safe surrounding of therapeutic room, I offer you my time, knowledge and experience, so that we can find the answers to troubling you questions, together. I help understand what blocks your innate talents and skills, identify them and reac

Training and qualifications
After graduating from the Psychology studies at the Open University, I obtained a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Level Four at Coleshill Counselling Service and a Diploma in Counselling Children, Level 5, at Keycounselling, Birmingham. I am also trained in CBT, CBT for depression as well as EFT therapy and EMDR.
Therefore, I am using the integrative therapeutic approach, which means that I have training in a range of different strategies, forming my 'tool kit'. In particular, I use Person Cantered approach and Transactional Analysis, I also integrate CBT, EFT and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) into my practice.
I regularly work with a broad range of issues, including individual crisis, anxiety, depression, relationship issues and child behavioural issues, as well as trauma and effects of any form of abuse or neglect. One of my strong points is an experience-based awareness of diversity and inequalities in our society, having come from another country and being able to see things from different perspectives. It is one of the reasons why I possess a facility for communicating and building a report with people from extremely different backgrounds.
