Karen LakenCognitive behaviour therapy psychotherapist
Hello, I'm Karen.
If you are needing some support to navigate these uncertain times I am here to walk with you and ensure that you are able to reach a place of wellbeing. I have worked and volunteered in mental health settings for over 30 years. For the past 10 years I worked as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist in primary care for the NHS specialising in anxiety disorders and depression. In 2014 I achieved an award for Clinical Excellence for introducing Compassion Focussed Therapy to my service. I am here to hold a safe space for you to explore the issues that you are experiencing. I specialise in Compassion Focussed Therapy for Anxiety which combines neuro-science with buddhist principles. It is an amazing therapy that has helped thousands of people like you and I to achieve balanced mental health and wellbeing. I see each person I work with as a unique soul and therefore we will work collaboratively to find a way of working with each other that is most beneficial to you. We can assess your needs and see if you feel I am the therapist for you at our first phone consultation. I am really keen to help any Doctors, Nurses and other frontline staff members at this challenging time, so please get in contact if you would like some time to process what is happening for you. I am warm, gentle in my approach and I am compassionate with my honesty when needed. Thank you for reading my profile and I hope to connect with you soon.
