Julie Hamshere
Hypnotherapy hypnotherapistAbout Me
Hi, my name is Julie and I am a hypnotherapist and reflexologist, I offer a range of therapies for your mind and body, helping you get the best out of yourself, improving your well-being and mental health now and into the future. I would love to connect with you and understand how we can work together to help you feel better naturally.
Some years ago after a serious accident in my late 20's, I started to use hypnosis as a tool for pain management and I was instantly hooked on how great I felt, how much calmer and able I became. I knew then that I needed to understand the power we have within us to make change, I wanted to help others feel as good as I did, and so I decided to study hypno-psychotherapy and later on reflexology. Both of these therapies have many benefits, not least giving us the ability to unblock mental and physical barriers we may have and to just feel great. I know the power of these, because I have been using the techniques on myself for years.
I want to bust a few myths that people often have about hypnotherapy in order to help you understand the many benefits it can bring. So if you are not sure about it then please read on.
It can be exciting, daunting, nerve wracking even to come along to your first session. My job is to make you feel comfortable and at ease. Once in my calm and comfortable therapy room you will immediately feel the weight falling off of your shoulders. Everything is set up to make you feel at ease and to ensure success.
Myth Busting
#1. I will be asleep and not in control
People often think that being hypnotized means being asleep, and that they are not in control. This is false. Rather than being asleep, it is just like being in a wonderful daydream, or a light meditative state.
#2. I can't be hypnotized
People also believe they can’t be hypnotized. But that is not true, under the right conditions many people can be, although some people may find it easier than others and may enter hypnosis quicker. However it is a natural process that we find ourselves in many times a day.
With hypnosis, the goal is to quieten down the conscious mind so that it becomes less active. This allows the subconscious mind to open and become receptive to positive suggestions during therapy. The goal is to enable positive change, by establishing new ways of thinking and behaving. This can help create a more positive healthy life.
I also work with clients using hands on reflexology. This is a holistic approach to health and wellness. Holistic therapies take into consideration the whole person/being – the spiritual, physical and emotional. With reflexology we aim to correct both the physical and the emotional imbalances that a person may have in their lives. I also offer mindful reflexology which is a combination of a deeply relaxing hypnosis introduction along with a hands on reflexology session.
I would be happy to discuss with you the right therapy or balance of therapies to help you, please feel free to contact me for a no obligation chat.
