About Me

Change - even welcome change - can be challenging.  Counselling can help.

Situations such as a new job, new baby, new partner, relationship breakdown, parenting, health problems, bereavement or situations of loss can be hard to deal with.  They can lead to feelings of helplessness, anxiety and depression.  Counselling can provide space for people to talk about their feelings, fears and difficulties without having to worry about the impact on their friends and family. This gives people the opportunity to work out a meaningful way to move forward.

It can be very hard to talk about some things and I offer gentle, accepting listening to help make it easier.   We work together to identify ways to resolve difficult feelings and uncover what might be contributing to the problem.   At the heart of my work is my belief in people.  This is both in terms of believing there are reasons why things are as they are, and that if it was easy people would have been able to resolve it themselves.  Never feel ashamed asking for help!

Areas where I am particularly experienced include the following:

Anxiety

Infertility

Stillbirth, neonatal death and disability

Problems with parenting e.g., post-natal depression, stress

Problems with families e.g., past abuse or difficult parents

Relationship difficulties - affairs, divorce, break ups

Dealing with a difficult health diagnosis
