Dr Jonathan Isserow
Psychodynamic psychotherapistAbout Me
My approach is to provide a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic online space to work in. The psychotherapy process works by building a trusting relationship, to explore thoughts and feelings. I draw on a broad theoretical frame to inform and meet the needs of each individual person that I work with. I am interested in diversity and have an inclusive practice which aims to facilitate the fullest growth and individuation of each person.
Through this process there is the potential to manage the challenging demands of life and to use every day as an opportunity to enhance self-understanding, develop relationships and let go of repetitive behaviours or thoughts that may no longer be of service. Primarily, psychotherapy can enable a more meaningful and creative relationship which may ripple through all aspects of life.
I am a state registered psychotherapist with over twenty years experience. I have also completed my PhD at UCL in psychoanalysis and film studies. I have worked extensively in adult mental health as well as child and adolescent psychiatric services in the NHS. Currently, I convene a psychotherapy training at the University of Roehampton and I frequently teach both nationally and internationally.
I work within the Health and Care Professions Council's Standards of conduct, performance and ethics.
