About Me

It can be challenging and draining when particular worries and difficult feelings build up inside us, especially if we feel unable to burden friends and family by sharing these anxieties with them.  My role is to listen and offer a warm, caring, non-judgemental space for you to feel supported. I am interested in your personal growth and wellbeing. We will be working together towards a greater understanding of your difficulties, enabling you to have more self-awareness, greater self-compassion and helping you to look after you better.

I work using an integrative approach.  This approach appreciates that no two clients are the same so I will aim to use a counselling style that is best suited to you and your specific difficulty.  I will have an empathic understanding of your difficulties from your perspective and be genuine in our relationship, seeking to encourage your trust.  I also feel it is important to encourage exploration and understanding of your historical experiences in order to help us make sense of where you find yourself now.

I have eight years of experience meeting with clients in a variety of settings, including a national mental health charity, a GP referral service, two university counselling services, and a secondary school.  I have also lectured on a counselling course at a London university. My experience of working with clients includes those with or without a diagnosed mental health condition and with both male and female survivors of childhood abuse and trauma. As a professional I adhere to a strict ethical code of conduct.

My previous careers include work in the corporate, hospitality and care sectors.
