Sharing the burden with you....
My name is Jo and I have extensive experience working with Young People and Adults Online.
I have worked with people who have met many challenges within their lives, I have been able to meet clients emotionally and physically with empathy and complete authenticity.
I recognise that finding the right counsellor can feel overwhelming. I’ve adopted an integrative approach to counselling, this enables me to work with the whole you. I strive to provide you with a friendly, confidential and reflective place, helping you to unravel your experience and understand true deep-rooted feelings in order to resolve them. I know that sometimes everything can seem like too much.
Life can often feel scary and overwhelming. My practice is a safe, confidential place where we can share this burden, with me walking alongside you as you process painful thoughts in a way that feels comfortable for you. I work with Adults as well as young people supporting you through a range of difficulties, such as self-harm or suicidal ideation, depression to addiction to relationship difficulties. I offer a place you can feel truly seen and understood.
Coupled with person centred ideology, the focus is on you. My aim is to meet you where you are, and work at a pace that’s right for you. I am able to recognise the importance of having a place where you can feel heard, where you no longer feel invisible trudging through treacle, navigating through what often feels like a tricky experience. I’ll be there to stay alongside you as you present your thoughts and feelings without judgement.
Counselling isn’t about giving advice, but empowering you to choose your direction, enabling you to examine your life to make the choice that feel right for you. As someone who specialises in working with both young people and adults to overcome a series of issues, I know first-hand that everyone is different, and that no issue is exactly the same. As a result, I am careful to employ an integrative, holistic approach – one that takes into account your wider emotional life, rather than just a specific issue. Working in this way means that we can decide on a therapeutic approach that makes sense to you. I am experienced in a number of modalities, such as psychotherapy, person-centered therapy, and Gestalt therapy.
Together we will come up with a therapeutic roadmap personalised to your needs.
