COUNSELLING FOR ADULTS AND YOUNG PEOPLE
Focusing on your feelings and the recurring patterns in your life can make a huge difference to how you cope with the challenges and practicalities of everyday life. Choosing to have therapy can be an effective way of starting to feel in control and make changes. Therapy can focus on specific issues such as sexuality, depression, suicidal thoughts, eating disorders, difficulties in relationships and addiction. Or it can be a more open ended effort to understand our choices, life history and ambitions.
I am a psychodynamic therapist which means when you come to see me we will work together to make sense of what has brought you to counselling now. This might relate to the early stages of your life or key relationships at various points in your life. If we are able to think about some of the underlying drivers of current difficulties it is more likely we can bring about real long lasting improvements.
I have worked in the NHS, with young people aged 11- 17 and in community settings.
