Person-centred/humanistic counsellorAbout Me
Do you sometimes feel like a square peg in a round hole? Do you feel that relationships and events from your past are holding you back? Is something that happened to you recently preying on your mind and making you anxious or depressed? Is your work consuming you, leaving little time to appreciate and enjoy other areas of your life?
These are just some of the things that can make dealing with day to day life seem too much. We may then feel powerless and unable to see a way forward. As individuals, we mostly have a feeling or idea about what is best for us, but we may be constrained by how we feel about ourselves, our environment and others from being able to move towards achieving these. Talking things through and seeing things from a different perspective can give us the impetus to start to make changes which can make things more comfortable for us. Being truly heard can bring a clarity which is difficult to find in the busyness of everyday life.
I am an experienced person-centred counsellor, offering a confidential, supportive and non-judgmental space for you to explore your difficulties. I am registered with the BACP and abide by their ethical framework.
I offer both short and long term counselling to individuals and couples for many issues. These include anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, identity, sexuality, bereavement and loss. I am also a clinical supervisor, and offer supervision for counsellors and other professionals.
Since qualifying, I have worked as a counsellor and manager in the charitable sector. I also worked in a corporate environment prior to becoming a counsellor and therefore understand the conflicts that can arise trying to maintain a manageable work/life balance in an increasingly pressurised world.
