Jen Tomkinson
Person-centred/humanistic therapistAbout Me
As a person-centred therapist I believe that as a client you are the expert on your own experiences, and that my role is to facilitate the process of you developing a deeper understanding of yourself.
The relationship between counsellor and client is fundamental to therapy. I offer an accepting, understanding and genuine relationship, and a space that is yours. Being truly listened to without judgement can be a rare experience, one that counselling gives you.
I provide therapy for individuals in a safe and confidential environment. I work with adults 18+ in Islington on a short-term or long-term basis depending on your needs. I am MBACP and receive regular supervision in line with BACP regulations.
I have nearly a decade of experience providing counselling in different settings. I have worked in further education, young adult wellbeing services, and for mental health charities. I currently offer individual counselling in my private practice in central London. I also run therapy groups and workshops for clients with severe mental health conditions at a homeless charity in the borough of Westminster.
