Jason Thorpe
Person-centred/humanistic counsellorAbout Me
I am pleased to be able to offer my services to assist you in your process. Firstly, our sessions will be private, and everything that we discuss is confidential.
At your own pace we can start to explore what you're currently experiencing. Here we can gain more insight and begin to define possible solutions towards helping you achieve a more balanced and secure sense of self
It's really the relationship between the client and therapist that is central to the therapeutic process, and trust is essential within this. However, it's YOU who's the expert on your life, not me! My aim therefore, is to give you autonomy, your right to choose how you wish to move forward. In this way you empower yourself and strengthen your self-esteem. I can assist you in this, and will listen without judgement and accept anything you may want to discuss. The session belongs to YOU. I will be there with you throughout this journey, but you're in the driving seat!
The thought of having counselling can seem daunting, yet it's my job to ensure that you feel comfortable and safe during our time together.
Sessions last around 50 minutes and are usually held weekly, although the frequency of your sessions is up to you. These sessions are also open-ended, meaning that you choose how long you want the sessions to continue (six sessions is a good minimum recommendation). We can periodically review your progress as we go along.
