Jacky Francis Walker Integrative psychotherapist , W1G
I'm really surprised at how different I feel. Before, I just thought I was an anxious person and could do nothing about it. Now, I realise that the way I think has been causing that anxiety. Thank you! (RH, Norwich Feb 2015)
The difference since our first session last week is incredible. I came with nothing, and left with so much. It's been life changing. (SW, London Jan 2015)
What you offer is unique... Not only skilled at psychotherapy but also in working with the creative process. I had been thinking of working with a writing coach, but I get all that and much more with you... (JK, Norfolk May 2016)
I am a leading psychotherapist, mindfulness consultant, executive coach, clinical supervisor and trainer. Featured in Psychologies magazine.
I have been in practice since 1993, and have a particular interest in working with high achieving professionals and creative people. My specialist areas include stress, burnout, quality of life and 'finding the deeper me'.
I offer appointments in London's Harley Street, the City of London, in Norwich and also via Skype, so you can get help no matter where in the world you are.
Clients often find me through word of mouth recommendations. I also receive referrals from other health professionals, such as doctors, cosmetic surgeons, occupational health professionals and dental surgeons. I am also registered with a number of Employee Assistance schemes and health insurance policies which may cover the cost of sessions.
The combination of skills I offer is unique in the UK. As author of The Burnout Bible, I am one of the UK's leading specialists in stress, burn-out and work/life balance. Many people don't know that there's a difference between stress and burnout, or that each needs a very different approach. That's where my specialist know-how comes to the fore, to help you back on your feet in the fastest possible time.
I work from an integrative approach, informed by humanistic and psychodynamic philosophy and mindfulness ways of working, but I draw from the best of other approaches too, such as cognitive behaviour therapy, depending upon your needs. I am able to vary my style from fairly structured to fairly loose, according to your preference. By working collaboratively we can arrive at the most appropriate working style for you, so please do let me know if you'd like us to adjust anything.
I have been working with mindfulness-based approaches since the early 1990s. My MA thesis examined how mindfulness (in the form of the felt sense) could be found within most schools of psychotherapy and distilled key principles for working with mindfulness within a psychotherapeutic approach. In 2014 I took part in an innovative pilot scheme on Mindfulness and Weight Loss.
