Hawa Kebbay-Omideyi Psychodynamic psychotherapist , SE1
I believe that the most powerful relationship you will ever have is the relationship with yourself and as a result I work on the principle that self-knowledge can help to improve many aspects of ones life. Self-examination can lead to a deeper sense of identity and self-acceptance. Needless to say, my approach to therapy is a pragmatic one, essentially I meet my clients where they are emotionally, by working at their pace, focusing and exploring their whole way of being, looking at the ways which they have learned to relate to themselves and others and how they have learnt to respond to different situations in life. This approach allows me to help my clients develop insights into and become aware of their values, beliefs and limitations and help them connect to and improve their relationship with themselves and others.
Training and qualifications
I hold the following professional qualifications:
Certificate in Counselling Skills (WPF Therapy)
Clinical Qualification in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (WPF Therapy)
Postgraduate Diploma Psychodynamic Theory and Practice (Roehampton University)
I am registered with the following professional bodies:
Foundation of Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC)
British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)
United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)
I work with individuals in regular weekly sessions that last for 50 minutes and are charged at £70.00 per session.
The initial meeting which acts as a preliminary consultation will typically last longer than a standard session (usually between 60 and 90 minutes), for which the charge is £70. Sometimes we may decide to continue preliminary consultations for a few meetings. This gives us time to get to know each other, and for you to decide if therapy is right for you and if you would like to begin therapy with me.
If you would like to contact me to set up an initial meeting to discuss your situation, please free to contact me via telephone or email.
