Becoming a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist has opened me up to the belief that self-knowledge can help to improve many aspects of one’s life and that self-examination can lead to a deeper sense identity, self-acceptance, finding and building upon personal strengths. The most powerful relationship you will ever have is the relationship with yourself and I understand now that 'feelings' are what they are and don't need to be avoided or feared.

Needless to say, my approach to therapy is as a result a pragmatic one; essentially I meet my clients where they are emotionally, by working at their pace and focusing and exploring the their whole way of being, looking at the ways which they have learned to relate to themselves and others and how they have learnt to respond to different situations in life. This approach allow me to help my clients develop insight into and become aware of their values, beliefs and limitations and help them connect to and improve their relationship with themselves and others.

Training and qualifications

I hold the following professional qualifications:

Certificate in Counselling Skills (WPF Therapy)
Clinical Qualification in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy (WPF Therapy)
Postgraduate Diploma Psychodynamic Theory and Practice (Roehampton University)

I am registered with the following professional bodies:

Foundation of Psychotherapy and Counselling (FPC)
British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)
United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)
British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)

Fees

I work with individuals in regular weekly sessions that last for 50 minutes and are charged at £65.00 per session.

The initial meeting which acts as a preliminary consultation will typically last longer than a standard session (usually between 60 and 90 minutes), for which the charge is £95.00. Sometimes we may decide to continue preliminary consultations for a few meetings. This gives us time to get to know each other, and for you to decide if therapy is right for you and if you would like to begin therapy with me.

If you would like to contact me to set up an initial meeting to discuss your situation, please free to contact me via telephone or email.
