About Me

The sessions are about talking about your life as you need to. You can reflect in a confidential setting about what is going on for you now, and in a way that can enable change. This can be quite liberating, and joyful, so that you can learn how to enjoy life more.

I have been practising for some 20 years, including privately, with a charity, and in the NHS. I work and have worked with people from different backgrounds and life experiences. I am based about five minutes away from Tooting Broadway tube station, in SW London. Easy transport links from neighbouring areas, such as Balham, Streatham, Clapham and Wimbledon. I offer both short and long term counselling.

I believe in using skills that are underpinned by evidenced based practice, in its many different forms as well as believing that there is a lot about us as humans that is unique, maybe spiritual and we have beliefs which are unique and special to us.

I have been working with and experienced many kinds of therapeutic approaches and find that the ways of working (see further information below) are very effective. It is important in my view to appreciate that how we are as human beings and how we can help ourselves deal with day to day living. Some recent models which have developed out of cognitive behavioural therapy and mindfulness in particular in my experience are very helpful.

You can find you can learn how to overcome such difficulties such as low self esteem, anxiety, depression, feelings of helplessness, stress, shame, guilt, relationship difficulties and existential issues etc etc. You can learn skills to be able to change your unhelpful patterns. Feelings and emotions can as a result feel more comfortable. This includes painful feelings and pain itself.

Joy can be sustainable and learnt. Even though we have experienced the most difficult of lives, so far. It is possible to connect or reconnect with happiness and learn to enjoy. To be able to turn your life experience completely around.

Remember; "You Start Where You Are Now."

Fees

I charge £35 per session during the day, and £45 from six pm.
I do have some concessions for those who cannot afford these fees.
Also, the first session is £15, so that you can find out whether I can be helpful.

The reason that I only accept payments by cash or cheque is that the way we relate with money is pertinent to the way we relate to ourselves and others. Many of life's difficulties are due to money not being discussed in one shape or form.
