Dr Francesca Lassman
Clinical psychologistAbout Me
I am a Clinical Psychologist who welcomes people from all backgrounds in a safe, warm and non-judgemental space. I embrace diversity in ethnicity, race, religion, sexual identity, gender identity and physical ability.
In my work I am dedicated to promoting emotional well-being and meaningful life changes. I support people in connecting with their values and helping them to achieve the life they want to lead.
I have eight years of experience working in NHS and private healthcare settings and currently work as a Senior Clinical Psychologist in the NHS. I help support adults through a range of difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, trauma, loss, identity issues, pregnancy, postnatal depression and the psychological impact of living with a health condition. People sometimes just want a space to make sense of a particular part of their lives, a relational concern, or other challenge that needs addressing.
As individuals we are unique in our life experiences and cultural contexts, and these particular experiences shape our beliefs, values and ways of relating to the world. I strongly believe people are experts in themselves, their own lives and stories; I draw on my expertise of psychological models, research and evidence-based approaches in order to tailor therapy to your personal needs.
I am committed to working collaboratively and not prescriptively and will always uphold your personal experience and worldview at the centre of the work.
I am very happy to answer any questions you have before booking an initial consultation. If you decide to proceed, I offer an assessment session to get an initial overview of different areas of your life, your current concerns, and hopes for therapy. This aim of this session is to reach a mutual understanding of the difficulties you are facing, from which we would make a plan for ongoing work. I sometimes see people for a few sessions and sometimes for longer-term work; or it might be you don't need therapy, but a short-term space to think through a particular concern.
