Fern Dickson
Existential psychotherapistAbout Me
Thank you for visiting my profile. Finding the right therapist can be a daunting task, and I hope this information gives you an idea of my approach and what you can expect. I offer online and phone therapy sessions to support you in the current uncertain situation.
You may be coming to therapy because you are in crisis, or feeling stuck, or perhaps you have a sense that something just doesn't feel right. I am experienced in working with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationships, identity, sexuality and loss. Therapy is a unique space to step away from the pressures of everyday life, where you can unburden and talk freely and make sense of what is troubling you. Together we will give space to your feelings, explore how past experiences may be impacting present relationships and situations, and attend to your hopes and fears for the future.
In the current circumstances, I have moved my practice to online and phone sessions to best support my clients. Usually I see clients at two welcoming and convenient Central London locations, in Holborn (next to Chancery Lane station), and Upper Street Islington.
What's the next step?
Please feel free to contact me by email or phone. We would then arrange an initial session, with no obligation to continue. This is an opportunity to see whether my approach suits you and we are a 'good fit'. We will talk about what brings you to therapy, and you can ask any questions you may have. We would also talk about your hopes and expectations for therapy, and whether you envisage a fixed number of sessions or something more open-ended.
If you decide to continue, we would aim to meet weekly at an agreed time. I work long and short term, and in either case we would review regularly to make sure we are working in a way which feels right for you.
