About me
I believe that real change begins when we make space not only for the parts of ourselves we readily accept, but also for the parts we have learned to hide. The vulnerable part, the sad part, the frightened part, the hopeful part, and the part that still longs to be understood. Many people come to therapy because they feel stuck in patterns they cannot seem to shift. You may find yourself repeating the same patterns in relationships, feeling disconnected from your partner, caught in conflict, or struggling to understand why the same difficulties keep resurfacing despite your best efforts. Others come because of anxiety, self-doubt, overwhelm, grief, or a sense that something isn't quite working despite outwardly coping well. Many of the ways we learn to cope develop for good reasons. They may once have helped us survive difficult experiences or relationships. Over time, however, those same strategies can become restrictive, affecting how we relate to ourselves, our partners, and the people around us. Therapy offers a space to understand yourself, your relationships, and the patterns that shape your life. Together, we can explore what may be happening beneath the surface, making sense of the experiences, relationships and coping strategies that continue to influence how you live, love and connect today. I work with individuals, couples and EMDR clients. In my work with couples, I am interested not only in the conflict that brings people to therapy, but also in the deeper longings that often sit beneath it. Behind most conflict is a longing to feel seen, understood and emotionally connected. Alongside psychotherapy, I also offer EMDR therapy. Sometimes we understand where our difficulties come from, yet continue to feel stuck in the same emotional responses. EMDR can help process experiences that continue to shape the present, allowing change to be experienced not only intellectually, but emotionally and physically as well. While insight is important, I do not believe it is enough on its own. Meaningful change often happens through experience, reflection, and the therapeutic relationship itself. Therapy is not simply about understanding why we are the way we are. It is about creating the possibility for greater freedom, connection and choice.
