Emma Azzopardi Relational counsellor , E14
Psychotherapeutic Counsellor working with individuals and couples - both short and long term.
With so many therapists to choose from where do you begin? The quality of the relationship between you and your therapist is the cornerstone of successful therapy. My focus at the outset is to understand what may be causing difficulty for the client and to see if I might be somebody who the client can relate to. This is important in building trust between us. I work with many conditions and concerns, including anxiety, depression, grief, loss, relationship difficulties, trauma and identity issues.
Whether you are young or old, a couple or an individual, I offer a confidential, support and non-judgemental space in which you can explore your thoughts and feelings. I have a Psychodynamic approach to therapy. I draw upon Transactional Analysis and psychoanalytical ideas, with a particular focus on a relational approach to gently reveal insights and understanding as to why you do what you do and ways in which to move beyond painful and repetitive experiences. I am committed to ethical, non-discriminatory practice and welcome individuals and couples of all races, faiths and sexualities. I abide by the principles and ethics of the BACP and UKCP.I offer a choice of two locations in East London at which to see me - Canary Wharf and Bethnal Green.
